About Region One 2.0: 23 Things

Welcome to the Region One 2.0: 23 Things program and blog!

This online program was modified and is based on the Learning 2.0 program designed by Helene Blowers, former Technology Director at the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County, now Director of Digital Strategy at the Columbus Metropolitan Library. The Learning 2.0 Program is loosely based on Stephen Abram's article, 43 Things I (or You) might want to do this year (Information Outlook-February 2006) and the Website 43 Things. This program also "borrowed" from Learning 2.0 Through Play and Library2Play

Chances are you are participating in this adventure because you:
are interested in learning about and playing around (yes, playing is allowed in libraries and classrooms) with some new web 2.0 tools that will help you expand your information literacy toolbox.- or -
need CPE credit. Either way… We're glad you're here!! 23 Things is an online learning program that encourages you to learn more about emerging technologies on the web that are changing the way students, society and classrooms and libraries access information and communicate with each other. Over the course of the next nine weeks, this website will highlight “23 Things” and discovery exercises to help you become familiar with blogging, RSS news feeds, tagging, wikis, podcasting, online applications, and video and image hosting sites. The FAQs should answer most of your questions about this program. If not, then please add your question to the FAQ page as a comment. So fasten your seat belts, grab your mouse and get ready for a discovery adventure… and remember, it's OK to play in the library and classroom and have fun!

This activity reminds me of my Sam Houston classes. While there, I did have fun while learning.

I went through this training a long time ago and this was a very nice refresher. Easiest Habit is 7 1/2 and the Hardest Habit is 1.
